The Cottage as its name suggest was many years ago a small croft house but as crofts were amalgamated people began to move to the villages and the cottages became farm steadings for storing feed and equipment.

The Cottage originally had a half loft and so in keeping with its heritage we have built a mezzanine bedroom where the loft once was with large Velux windows giving views of the surrounding area and down to the rocky coast. At the top of the staircase we have created a small seating area bathing in the light from these windows.

The living area is full height creating a light and airy space with a roof Velux and two small windows which are deep set because of the thick walls of the original house giving it a cosy feel. With the thick well insulated walls and the air source underfloor heating this is a warm and inviting house to stay in whether it be winter or summer.

The kitchen is well equipped with Oven/hob/fridge/freezer/microwave and toaster, we also have installed a hot water tap for teas & coffees. There is a small folding table and stools provided. Next to the kitchen of a small hallway is the shower room. At the entrance is a porch for wellies and waterproofs outside & opposite of which is private seating and a small walled area for barbecuing (BBQ available on request).

The bedroom can either be set up as a twin or super king bedded room. There is also a sofa bed in the living room. There is a flat screen TV and internet.

*The Cottage is stays of minimum 4 nights.

  • £150.00 non-refundable deposit is required at point of booking. Bank details will be provided. We do not accept credit cards at this time.
  • The deposit paid will be non refundable however if you are unable to travel to Islay due to restrictions in place from the Scottish Government at the time of your stay we will allow you to change the dates of your stay and carry the booking forward to such time when restrictions are lifted and you will be able to travel to Islay again. This will be subject to availability and if moving to a peak time may incur additional fees if your booking was out of peak season.
  • Confirmation of booking will be made when deposit has been received.
  • Remaining balance is due 6 weeks before arrival. If your booking is within 6 weeks of your stay then the full amount is due.
  • If a guest has to cancel a booking within 6 weeks of the stay, payment will be refunded only if a replacement booking is secured for the cancelled booking.
  • Access to property from 4:00pm and to be vacated on day of departure by 10:00am.
  • Rental period is minimum 4 nights.
  • We cannot accept any liability for personal property whilst in the cottages.
  • We assume you will take reasonable care of the cottages you are renting and we reserve the right to charge for any breakages, excessive cleaning or damage to the property while in your care.
  • It is recommended you takes out travel insurance which provides cover for holiday accommodation cancellations as wee as ferry and plane disruptions and cancellations. Timetables and transport plans can change due to adverse weather or ferry breakdowns.
  • We have a strict NO SMOKING & NO PETS Policy.
  • The Cottages must not be used for parties or gatherings of any sort without clear prior approval.
  • In the event you have to extend your stay due to weather conditions or illness you will incur additional accommodation charges. Please make sure you have appropriate travel insurance.
